Gwen Verhoff, LPC has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from The Ohio State University.
Professional Information:
Gwen takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach to counseling. She strives to create a safe space for healing at a pace that works for each individual client. She believes that seeking counseling is a courageous, self-compassionate choice as we all experience loss and heartache in our lives. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients recover from traumatic life experiences. Gwen utilizes other evidenced-based therapies such as somatic approaches including Polyvagal Theory, parts work, Acceptance and Commitment Theory, mindfulness, and grief theories depending upon the client’s unique needs.
She is committed to walk alongside clients, in a safe, nurturing, non-judgmental environment to help clients uncover who they are underneath the pain.
Gwen focuses on a range of concerns including trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress management, and women’s issues for clients ages 18 and older.
Personal Information:
Gwen enjoys spending time with her husband and children, preferably traveling or outdoors. She delights in cooking and sharing a meal with others.
