Kaira Battista is a counselor trainee (CT) who is pursuing a Masters in Counselor Education with a specialization in mental health clinical counseling at The Ohio State University. Kaira graduated from John Carroll University with a BS in Psychology. She has had counseling experience at Directions for Youth and Families working with adolescents and has also worked as a case manager at The Centers for Families and Children in Cleveland serving adults who were mentally and emotionally disabled.

Kaira finds joy in walking with individuals through all stages of life in which a genuine relationship can be built. She desires to help people obtain the tools they need in order to cope with difficult problems and every day issues. She has had experience counseling individuals who are struggling with anxiety, mood disorders, self-esteem issues, and life transitions such as grief or divorce.
Kaira specifically has a passion for counseling those who have relationship difficulties and marriage issues. She believes that no relationship is as difficult, yet as rewarding, as marriage can be. She is dedicated to helping families learn how to meet one another’s needs and strengthen their communication and conflict resolution.

In her spare time, she enjoys getting together with friends or reading for pleasure at the local coffee shop. Kaira also enjoys running, spending time outdoors, and is a big Cavalier’s fan! She is also an active volunteer at her church in order to establish long-term relationships in the community by serving meals to women whom have been victims of sex trafficking.
